Mindful Mutterings # 4
Read the lie. Then read the scripture and the bolded Greek or Hebrew definitions. Meditate on them for a few minutes. Denounce the lie and pronounce the truth. Do you see an additional lie or truth? Write it down. Denounce the lies and mutter the truths under your breath several times a day for at least 21 days, until you know them by heart. Try to memorize the scriptures (at least memorize the main idea). When Satan or anyone else (including you) speaks the lie, mutter the truth in response. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!
*Definitions are taken from Strong’s Exhausted Concordance which is based on the KJV. I’ve used corresponding words in different versions.
I don’t have time to wait quietly before the Lord
Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Wait: to bind together, expect
Speak the Truth: If I wait on the Lord, my strength will be renewed and I’ll have time to do everything that needs to be done.
When I pray I never get an answer
Hebrews 11:3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Substance: a setting under; support
Speak the Truth:
By faith I see the answer to my prayer. I know it’s coming
I can be just like the world and still know the will of God
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Conformed: conform to the same pattern
Speak the Truth: I will not be conformed to this world. I will renew my mind so I can know the will of God
