Mindful Mutterings #2
Accompanies post: Two Reasons We Don’t Trust God
Read the lie. Then read the scripture and the bolded Greek or Hebrew definitions. Meditate on them for a few minutes. Denounce the lie and pronounce the truth. Do you see an additional lie or truth? Write it down. Denounce the lies and mutter the truths under your breath several times a day for 21 days, until you know them by heart. Try to memorize the scriptures (at least memorize the main idea). When Satan or anyone else (including you) speaks the lie, mutter the truth in response. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!
*Definitions are taken from Strong’s Exhausted Concordance which is based on the KJV. I’ve used corresponding words in different versions.
The Lie (1)
I’m not strong enough to trust God with my life.
II Samuel 22:33 God is my strength and power: and he makes my way perfect.
Perfect: complete, full
Speak the Truth: God, You are the one who gives me strength and makes my way perfect.
The Lie (2)
I’m afraid so I must not be trusting God.
Psalm 56:3 but even when I am afraid, I keep on trusting you.
Trust: be confident or sure
Speak the Truth: Fear does not keep me from trusting God.
The Lie (3)
What God’s asking me to do doesn’t make sense.
Proverbs 3:5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding
Speak the Truth: God knows everything and I don’t, so I can trust him.
